Saurav's family's dreams were momentarily shaken when they learned that their unborn child carried a cardiac abnormality that would demand immediate attention upon arrival into the world. Though advised for immediate surgery right after birth, unforeseen family circumstances led to a delay in Sourav's medical procedure. Eventually, with the compassionate assistance of the CHF and Smile of Hope, Sourav underwent his first successful surgery at the tender age of one.
